Uploading Firmware Files

The DeviceHQ administrator or manager can add firmware updates as they are released for compatible devices. A firmware update can be scheduled to be applied the next time the device checks into DeviceHQ. Devices do not maintain a consistent connection to DeviceHQ. Pending actions, such as firmware updates, are applied to the device only when it checks in.

After you create, save, and verify your desired firmware files, you can upload the files to DeviceHQ. To use DeviceHQ to apply the setting in the configuration file to other devices:

  1. Click Files.
  2. Click New Firmware.
  3. Select File type. Options are Firmware or Radio Firmware.
  4. Select a Model(s). To select multiple models, press the CTRL button and click the models.
  5. Enter the firmware Version.
  6. Click Browse. Go to the location where the firmware file is saved.
  7. Select the file and click Upload.

The firmware file appears on the Files page. You can select the file when you schedule a firmware update for a device or a group of devices.
